Atlantic City Electric has expanded its Atlantic City Electric Customer Relief Fund in collaboration with nonprofit partner SHARES.
An additional $500,000 will be added to the existing fund to support customers across South Jersey, bringing the total amount of customer assistance available through the fund to $4.5 million in the past year. The contribution comes from Exelon, Atlantic City Electric’s parent company, and will be provided to eligible customers in the form of one-time grants of up to $500, up from $300 previously. Previous recipients will automatically receive the difference from the original $300, up to $500, credited to their account.
The fund is open to active, limited income customers who are income qualified for federal and state energy assistance programs and have at least $250 in arrearages. Moderate income customers who meet certain income eligibility requirements may also be eligible for support. Approved grants will be credited to the customer’s Atlantic City Electric account.
